album review: american teen - khalid

Hello everyone! Music is a huge part of my life, it's how I display my emotions and it's what I do what I have nothing to do, in fact it influences a lot of my writing in my novels and blog posts :D But the sad thing is, I never talk about it on the blog ?? WHA. that ends now dude.

Thanks to my rad friends and the internet I've come across some Kool Tunes, my current favorite being the album American Teen by the amazing singer Khalid <3 The songs are really mellow and v nice to listen to while reading or writing, so nothin hardcore that your brain focuses too hard on. (if that makes any sense lol)

so without further ado.. here's my opinion on all the songs in this album!

even the cover is a e s t h e t i c

Track 1 - American Teen - This song just gives me good vibes tbh. The beat is nice and peppy, like I can totally have a let-loose-dance-party to this song man. It addresses the "recklessness" (in a good way) of teens.. in a patriotic way?

And we don't always say what we mean, it's the lie of an American teen. My youth is the foundation of me.

Track 2 - Young, Dumb and Broke - Also v mellow, but not as peppy, more soft. It's definitely a love song, possibly he's trying to convince his love interest that they should get back together because they're young and they should get more chances. EITHER WAY IT'S A GOOD SONG K

Yeah, we're just young dumb and broke, but we still got love to give.

Track 3 - Location - HANDS DOWN THE BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM. it's. so. catchy. When this song comes on I CANNOT HELP BUT DANCE. it's so good, if you don't want to listen to the entire album, just listen to this song. the beat is too good. toooooooo goooooddddd.

Track 4 - Another Sad Love Song - this song is extremely sad, but also powerful. It feels, in a way, like a saga as if this song comes after Track 2. It's the aftermath because this girl dumped him, didn't listen to him, and broke his heart. The beat actually feels like it should give good vibes, but you have to really listen to the lyrics to know the TRUTH. (weird wording) whatevs it's a good song.

They'd think we're perfect if they'd ever seen us, but I guess this sounds like another sad love song. I can't get over how it all went wrong.

Track 5 - Saved - this song reminds me of a driving song, like something I'd definitely listen to on a road trip. The chorus is insanely catchy though. Some parts of this song really outline Khalid's singing talents, he has quite a lovely voice. I also feel like this song could somewhat apply to a broken friendship, not just a love relationship.

I hope you think of all the times we shared. I hope you'll finally realize I was the only one who cared.

Track 6 - Coaster - a lot of these songs are terribly sad breakup songs lol. This song is kind of different, it's a mainly piano beat with a lil bit of percussion, either way it's a good breakup song :(

Track 7 - 8TEEN - THIS SONG ALSO HAS A REALLY GREAT BEAT. I feel like it's kind of sarcastic.. sort of making fun of teens in 2017, complaining about their problems that aren't that bad? that makes no sense noor.

Because I'm eighteen, and I still live with my parents. Yeah they're not like yours. Well yours are more understanding.

Track 8 - Let's Go - another one of those YES YOUTH COOL !!! songs. It's just telling teens to "let go" and go with the flow bro. perfect for my dance party.

Leave your sorrow on the table, pick up your worries and throw them out the window.

Track 9 - Hopeless - sad, nice beat, sounds like it should be a happier song, but it's not.. sensing a theme. still love it. Adding it to the dance party.

I'm going to go ahead and stop here because all my song reviews are gonna sound the same plus this post would be SUPER LONG. no one wants to read that.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU LIKE THIS ALBUM !!! AND WHAT SONGS YOU LIKE !!! GIVE IT A LISTEN !!! BYE

Noor

Blogtober Day 27 - Recent Music Favorites

Hello everyone! I did not realize today was DIY Halloween Decoration. Haha oops. So in order for me to have decent DIYs, I'm switching today's prompt with Thursday's. I'm going to my craft store today so I'll get some stuff for the décor ;) Anyway, today I'm going to be sharing my Recent Music Favorites. Let's a go!

The Emperor's New Clothes - Panic! At The Disco

ASDFGHJKL this is the best song I love it. Panic! released this song last Thursday (?), in time for the SPOOKY time. It's such a catchy, poppy, and kind of dark, yet deep song.

do not be alarmed by this thumbnail, remember that demon thing is this man:

Anyways, I really love this song. I love some of the lyrics as well: Heroes always get remembered but legends never die. If it feels good, tastes good, it must be mine. Very poetic Brendon.

Infinity on High - Fall Out Boy

I remember when I felt this same way about Folie A Deux, but that doesn't matter... THIS ALBUM OH MY GOSH YES YES I CAN'T LIKE WHAT HOW YES. Okay I better chill.

Thriller - This song starts out very interesting. It's a classic FOB rock song. I guess nothing special.
"The Take Over, the Breaks Over" - LOVE IT LOVE IT. Super catchy, super fun I really love it. We do it in the dark, with smiles on our faces.
This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race - CLASSIC FOB, AMAZING SONG. Patrick like slays in this song. I feel like it's really deep in some sort. I just love it okay thanks bye.
Me and You (don't make me write the long song title please) - One of the more slowier songs on the album, but I still really like it. It's nice and pretty catchy.
Hum Hallelujah - I LOVE THIS SONG. It's really happy (I think) and it's nice and catchy and yes
Golden - This song is really freakin sad I don't like it, too sad I cry. It's REALLY deep and I love it's message but I just don't like the song. How cruel, is the golden rule?
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - AGAIN, CLASSIC FOB, AMAZING FOB. I just love how this song starts out with that like tuba/trombone/thing, I freakin love that. And the music vid, pure gold.
Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? Very catchy, again, love the beginning. It's a really fun song and I just love the lyrics and ugh. They say quitters never win.
The (After) Life of the Party - This is one of my eh songs. It's okay, but definitely not my favorite on the album. It's a nice song, I like it, but it's not FOB's best.
The Carpal Tunnel of Love - YES YES YES YES. I love the darkness of this song, it's amazing. AND PETE'S SCREAMING IS WHAT I LIVE FOR OH MY GOSH.
Bang The Doldrums - I used to be obsessed with this song, but I've heard it so much that it's gotten a bit annoying. I like it, it's nice. Best friends, ex friends until the end, better off as lovers.
Fame < Infamy - Another darkish song which I basically live for. I love the lyrics of this song, it's a really catchy one. The kid was alright, but it went to his head.
You're Crashing, But You're No Wave - (what kind of song titles are these seriously) FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM, PERIOD. I LOVE IT ALL ALL ALL. The lyrics, the beat, EVERYTHING. And everyone's looking for relief, United States versus disbelief.
I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears and None On My Fingers - (again, song title??) BEGINNING WOW LOVE IT. I also really love this song, oh my gosh wow it's amazing. I love the symphony in the background and how it fits in amazingly with the song.  Take one for the team, you all know what I mean.

Hungarian Dances: N. 5 in G Major

We're playing this in youth symphony and I love it. It's extremely difficult but I love how it all fits together. It's so much fun to play. I love the like bursts of fast and slow mixed in. It's a combination of dark and light, I just ahh.

I hope you liked that little 'music' update. I tried to mix in a bit of different genres. Maybe I'll make this a series, I really like doing this :)

I will definitely have that DIY post up Thursday, so look out for that ;)

Have a music filled day everyone!

Now for the real post ;) I've been listening to a lot of music lately and some new music has come out so I decided to review it, because, why not?

Panic! At The Disco's Death Of A Bachelor

So a couple days ago Pete Wentz revealed this song on Beats 1 and I couldn't speak. I love it and everything about it, it's just amazing.

It's definitely different from Panic!s usual. It's like a mix of Frank Sinatra and Beyoncé (that's how Brendon described it and I definitely agree)

Some parts kind of remind me of a winter song, not even joking.

So yes, I rate this 5 out of 5. It's amazing, Brendon's voice is amazing, everything is AMAZING. Death of a Bachelor? More like Death of a Fangirl.

Pentatonix's Can't Sleep Love

OKAY NOT JOKING I BOUGHT THIS ONE RIGHT AFTER I FOUND IT WAS OUT.

Okay the music video is life, Mitch. is. slaying. Although I don't know what happened with Kirstie's hair... But Scott's uh huhs are life I think I died. AND THEN MITCH'S YEAHS OKAY UM DONE WITH LIFE.

AND THOSE HIGH NOTES OH MY ROWLING. Okay I can't.

Rate: 10 out of 5.

My Chemical Romance's Black Parade

THIS ISN'T NEW WHATSOEVER AND I'M SO LATE ON THIS. I have no excuses for not getting into MCR earlier. *looks at music history. sees that she's replayed Folie A Deux 100 times.*

I love all these songs. It does have swearing, and it does have stuff that's most likely not kid friendly. Might not even be for me, still love it. Okay I'm going to rate all the songs now.

The End.- It's sort of slow, but I like the chorus part and I LOVE how it fits into Dead!
Dead! - One of my favorite songs. Not too hardcore, LOVE the guitar solo. just love it all.
This Is How I Disappear- This is an interesting song, it's a darkish song, it's more harder than Dead! But it's a nice level.
The Sharpest Lives- I LOVE THIS SONG. It's also a very dark (I don't know how to describe it) song. But the chorus is so catchy and like fun, I guess? Also one of my faves.
Welcome To The Black Parade- I cry at the beginning sometimes. Don't judge. But I like the rest of it, it's like a sad but really nice, like the beat and stuff. I'm so bad at this wow.
I Don't Love You- Slower song, sort of sad. But I like the song, I like the lyrics and the guitar and all that. It's a great song but sad.
House of Wolves- OKAY THIS IS SUCH A FUN AND CRAZY SONG. I CAN JAM TO THIS 24/7. I love it all. If I had to choose one MCR song to play at my funeral, it would be this one. I'd probably get out of my coffin and jam.
Cancer- This is a sad song and a slow song. I like it but it does make me sad. I did cry the first time I heard it. (I put the emo in emotional, I know)
Mama- Oh dear this song. It's a very upbeat (THAT'S THE WORD) song but has a very dark message. A lot of it is about going down there.
Sleep- I don't like the beginning of this but the rest is okay. Probably my least favorite on the album, to be honest.
Teenagers- I really like this song. The chorus is fun and upbeat and the verses are also upbeat. This is a song you should listen to when you're sad.
Disenchanted- Another slow song. I really like it though, the beginning sounds like a campfire song :P
Famous Last Words- I really love this song. It's upbeat and nice and kinda like the Sharpest Lives, sort of darkish, but not like Mama.

That was the very long music post. Again madebyme02 won the giveaway! Congrats!

I hope you enjoyed this little ranty/musical thing.

Thanks for reading,
Noor

Life As A Musician and 50 FOLLOWERS

Hello everyone! Today I am going to talk about being a musician, a violinist to be specific, but first. 50 FOLLOWERS. WAIT WHAT. WHAT WHAT. Thank you soooooo sooo much, you are fabulous. Okay, now onto the post!

MUSICIAN PROBLEMS

Those super long measure rests. How the heck am I supposed to count 67 measures of rest. EXPLAIN.

The indents in your fingertips from pressing on the strings too hard. Only string players would understand my struggle.

When someone makes fun of the fact that you named your instrument. HEY! Lila the violin has feelings too you know!

When you are finally in the mood to practice but everyone else is asleep. Maybe if I just play quietly.....

Dying of boredom when the conductor is talking to other sections. PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEE

When someone waltzes into the room when you're playing 4/4. (I got this one from Pinterest but it happens to me all the time) CAN'T YOU SEE THIS IS NOT A WALTZ.

Dealing with that one person who keeps messing up but makes the whole section have to play it over and over again. Just no. Stop. LEAVE

When the person next to you doesn't have the same bow movements as you. Okay, who's the wrong one here?

Okay, that's all for today! I hope you enjoyed and thanks again for 50 followers!

Mkay bye,
Noor
