Life As A Musician and 50 FOLLOWERS

Hello everyone! Today I am going to talk about being a musician, a violinist to be specific, but first. 50 FOLLOWERS. WAIT WHAT. WHAT WHAT. Thank you soooooo sooo much, you are fabulous. Okay, now onto the post!

MUSICIAN PROBLEMS

Those super long measure rests. How the heck am I supposed to count 67 measures of rest. EXPLAIN.

The indents in your fingertips from pressing on the strings too hard. Only string players would understand my struggle.

When someone makes fun of the fact that you named your instrument. HEY! Lila the violin has feelings too you know!

When you are finally in the mood to practice but everyone else is asleep. Maybe if I just play quietly.....

Dying of boredom when the conductor is talking to other sections. PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEE

When someone waltzes into the room when you're playing 4/4. (I got this one from Pinterest but it happens to me all the time) CAN'T YOU SEE THIS IS NOT A WALTZ.

Dealing with that one person who keeps messing up but makes the whole section have to play it over and over again. Just no. Stop. LEAVE

When the person next to you doesn't have the same bow movements as you. Okay, who's the wrong one here?

Okay, that's all for today! I hope you enjoyed and thanks again for 50 followers!

More About Me: An FAQ

Hello everyone! So basically, I had no idea whatsoever to post sooooo....I am doing this! (As a warning, Friday's post might be late...or might not happen at all.) Yay! I stole these questions (and changed them up a bit so they would fit what people have asked me) from Kat's post so this idea and all of these questions come from her :)

Where do you live?
Well, I live in New York, USA. Some people are not comfortable sharing their state but it is pretty big so I am not afraid of someone finding me and stalking me. It is pretty cold in New York right now but during Spring to around beginning of Fall, it is very nice and pretty.

What is your family like?
As you may know, I am an only child so it is just me, my dad, my mom, and my grandma. We're a pretty average South-Asian family; with our love for Bollywood and our crazy rules. I can do a separate post on that later.

What are some of your hobbies?
I'm a pretty crafty person so sewing, crafting, and finger knitting. (I have a DIY on that coming soon) Also reading, writing, blogging (well, of course). I ALSO play the violin and baritone and piano.

Favorite books and movies?
Favorite books....ahh... there's a lot but probably either Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (which is quite inappropriate, I shouldn't have read it) or the Harry Potter series because well um, they're fabulous. Moviessssssss.....Frozen, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Ice Age.

How do you imagine your future life?
Well ah, obviously, I want to get married, have kids, blah blah blah but I would really like to blog full time, or maybe become a writer, or even a doctor!

How old are you?
Welp, 10. Almost 11. Very close.

Favorite authors?
Rick Riordan (awesome), Roland Smith (great writer), JK Rowling (fabulous), Veronica Roth (too cool), John Green (hilarious), and Suzanne Collins (amazing writer).

Are you a fangirl?
Yes. YES. Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Hunger Games, Divergent, Percy Jackson, A LOT. The main ones I already listed.

What inspired you to create a blog?
I guess the idea that people might be interested in hearing what I have to say and all the things I could share from my imagination: the things I wrote, the things I created, the things I have thought. If you are still reading, *clap clap clap clap clap clap* also comment *clap clap clap*

How long have you been blogging?
1 year and almost 1 month

How can I follow you?
You um, see those sparkly gold buttons? Go click on those :D or look under that somewhere and look for the big box with all the faces. Go click follow :)

What equipment do you use?
Mah brain, some notebooks, a Dell computer, and my Nikon D3000.

That's all for today folks, I hope you enjoyed and if you have any more questions, leave them in the comments and I will reply as soon as possible!

A Little Jump Into ANOTHER Story: CHAPTER 1

Hello everyone! Today I have ANOTHER story that I have started writing. I can't seem to find the right story, so I am going to have you guys vote! Tell me in the comments which one you like better! This one or this one.

Chelsea Bloomsbury was your average high school popular girl. She went to the mall, had fun with her other popular friends, and liked to pick on the nerds. And like any high schooler, she had her secrets. Our story starts on a bright summer day in the Eastwood Park, the day everything changed.

"C'mon Chelsea, don't be such a loser. Come with us to the mall." Dani said as she glared at Chelsea.

Chelsea stared down at the dark green grass, her shiny black hair falling in front of her face.

"Remember what happened last time we went to the mall? We got kicked out for trying to shoplift!" Chelsea looked around at the girls. "Do we want to risk getting arrested?"

"Oh come on! We just won't get caught. And it was a simple lip gloss, not a big deal." Dani sighed.

"That 'simple lip gloss' could have gotten us arrested!" Chelsea cried

"Okay whatever," Dani rolled her eyes "Are you in or not?" Chelsea looked around and thought about it. Maybe the girls would be more careful this time. Dani was very persuasive and if Chelsea didn't go, she might be kicked out of the group.

"Yeah, I'm in. Let me just go grab my bag." Chelsea ran down the road and into her house.

"Hey honey, why are you in such a rush?" Chelsea's mom was busy at the computer, like always.

"Oh, just going to the mall with the girls." Chelsea ransacked her room looking for her bag, and finally found it at the bottom of her closet, or as her mom calls it, the "abyss".

She ran out the door and back to Eastwood Park.

"Alright, ready?" Dani asked.

"Yup, let's go!" Chelsea wondered if this was a good idea, but what was the worst that could happen, right?

----END---

This is totally unedited and I literally just came up with this idea. Here is what I think Chelsea looks like:

DIY Guitar Out Of A Cereal Box

Hello everyone! Today I have another exciting DIY for you! I am again, participating in the 2 Crochet Hooks Craft Challenge! I am surprised how cute this turned out and I do hope you enjoyed. By the way, June is having a wonderful link up party which you can find right here! And get excited because at the end of the month, I am going to start my March blog link up party in honor of my birthday month!

YOU WILL NEED:
Any cereal box
Cardboard
String (optional, also yarn or ribbon)
Some sort of adhesive (glue, tape, stapler, etc)
Scissors
Decorating methods (optional)
Colored paper (optional)

STEP 1:
First things first, (I'm the realest), cover your cereal box with the colored paper. This is optional, but it looks much nicer.

dat watermark tho

STEP 2:
Now, grab your scissors and attempt to cut a medium sized hole. It is okay if it is a bit small, but don't make it too big. Mine is quite uneven but trust me, you guys can do better.

STEP 3:
Grab your cardboard and cut 2 strips.

Now, staple (tape, or glue. But staples work better) your strips together and then staple them to the front or back of the box. I actually cut out 2 more strips afterwards but instead stapled them to the front of the box and then stapled the top of the two long strips together. You'll see in a sec.

STEP 4:
This final step is to attach the strings. Now what I did is tape four pieces of string to the bottom on the guitar.

Now, pull the strings as tightly as you can (without ripping them off the guitar) and tape at the very top of the neck. (Now you can see how I doubled up the strips)

Go ahead and decorate and then rock out with your new guitar!

I hope you enjoyed and if you make this guitar, Instagram or Google+ post a pic with the hashtag #sunshinediy. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Don't forget to check out my last Craft Challenge post about a watering can here!

My First (Actual) Fashion Post

Hello everyone! A while back, I did this post which was me browsing through Justice, looking at cute stuff. It is cringe worthy, I can't even read it. (Why the heck did I just link that.) But today, I decided to put on something nice and go outside....nah! I stayed inside and took most of these pictures. IT IS 0 DEGREES OUTSIDE I AM NOT GOING OUT THERE. So, I hope you enjoy. PS: If you remember that post that I linked, you might find something interesting in this post......hehe

Well, that was that! If you're wondering about the last picture, I am wearing a dupatta (desi scarf) on my head. Also, the shirt I am wearing is also from the other Fashion post so that's cool. Here are the links (or similar ones) to the clothes I am wearing:

HTML Coding For Beginning Bloggers

Hello everyone! Last month, I redesigned my blog. I have been getting loads of emails on how I did it and if I can give some tips so I decided to do a blog post on it! I am going to give you some basic HTML codes to get your blog design looking good and some other little HTML codes just for fun!

SOCIAL MEDIA ICONS

For some reason, people adore my social media icons! I love them too, so glittery. Here is the simple code I used to get them on my page. (I'll show you one)

BLOGLOVIN

<a href="SOCIAL MEDIA LINK HERE" target="_blank"><img src="PICTURE LINK HERE" width="SIZEpx" height="SIZEpx" /></a>

GREEN- This is the link of your social media. Mine would be my Bloglovin since I made this for my Bloglovin account.

PURPLE- This is the link to the picture of the social media button. All you do is search on Google or Pinterest "social media buttons" and search through the thousands of pictures. Once you find some that you like follow the link to the button (its better not to use Google Images) and save them. Then upload to Photobucket or Flickr and put the link there!

BLUE- This is how big you want yours to be. Mine was 48x48 but you can make yours as big or small as you'd like.

CATAGORIES BOXs

I don't have this on my blog (I am planning to add it soon) But it is super easy once you know how to do the social media coding.

All you need to do is go on PicMonkey and make a picture for your category such as "Music". (Make sure it is a size you like, otherwise it will come out bad) Now, do the EXACT same thing as social media icons:

-Upload your picture to Photobucket
-Use the same code
-BUT in the green area, try to find a post label that matches your category. (Music label for music, etc) Copy that link and put it in the area.
-I've learned that the size matters on the actual picture, but still play around with it!

Just For Fun Codes

<em>Your emphasized text</em> (emphasizes your text)

<a href="http://www.yourlink.com">Your linked text</a>  (For non-blogger users, it does this)

<a href="http://www.yourlink.com"><img src="http://www.yoursite.com/yourimage.jpg" alt="describe this image"/></a>
(You could also use this code for the category boxes, or just a simple image link)

That's all for today folks! I hope you enjoyed. Sadly, I was trying to get the little black heart as one of the codes but it wasn't working. Can someone tell me the code for that? Thanks for all of the wonderful comments on my last post :D

A Little Jump Into My Story: CHAPTER 1

Hello everyone! Today I was going to have a Valentine's Day Party Post but my camera lost battery so I sadly, could not. But today I wanted to share some of my story/novel that I have been writing. I'm not the best writer, but I enjoy it and that's what matters.

Undecided Name-CHAPTER 1: New York

Breathe Christina, it is going to be alright. Just open your eyes. Slowly.....

I opened my eyes to look around me. Everything was dark, no crack of light, just dark. Like night, like the darkest time of night when nothing is visible except the street lights.

I have been waiting for 4 months for the crack of light to appear.(of course, I am supplied with food and water) That is when my journey begins.

My journey? To find the man, and stop him before it is too late. I don't know what his name is, (to my people, it is Mighty) but I do know what he looks like.

I glanced down at the glossy picture of Mighty. I stared at him, wondering how he became so powerful. Mighty rules my world, in the year 2029. He is a fierce ruler (more like a dictator) and I have been sent here to stop him. No one knows what might happen if I do, but we believe that if it can save our world, it is worth it.

Okay Christina, go over the rules one more time. Don't destroy anything. Talk as little as possible. Don't get stuck in the city. Remember your mission. Save Earth.

CRACK! Huh? I turned and saw a big crack erupting with light. It looked like heaven, the beautiful light shining in. The crack turned into a door, welcoming me to walk through it.

Outside of the beautiful door was a beautiful city, New York. I ran back into the box, grabbed my supplies and the box disappeared.

New York was a beautiful city. People moving everywhere, signs and cars blinking, and the buildings. Oh the buildings, they were amazing, but not quite as amazing as my wonderful city, New New York. But we don't need to get into detail about that.

I scrambled through my  old tattered bag for a few old dollars from this time and the picture. On the back of the picture was an address. I quickly ran to the sidewalk and got onto a taxi. I handed him the picture, the money, and off we went!
      END OF FIRST CHAPTER

That was the first chapter! (As you can see, I don't really add too many details :P) I'm having a mini contest, who can come up with the best title and cover art for this book. Post your entry on your blog (it doesn't have to be a separate post) or email to me! If you would like to see more, let me know.

I've seen a lot of writers do this, so this how I imagine Christina to look like:

Thanks for reading,
Noor

Being Mad

Hello everyone! I kind of forgot to plan a post for today so I am doing this instead!

via

Last night I was mad at my friend. She had said something that had hurt my feelings but I don't think she even realized.

You know, when you were younger (around the same age as I am) you used to get so mad at your friends for doing the silliest things? That's what I did. But it is stupid. Why do I even do that?

Then I was thinking, well why should I be mad at her when I can be happy and sort things out the right way? (Middle school theory is that if you ignore the person, they'll eventually catch on.)

The "right way" would be to talk it out. Calmly, relaxed, and don't yell. Things should get sorted out if you tell the person what is wrong. That person will most likely fix what the problem is and everything will be fine

via

So I taught myself last night, that instead of being mad, find a way out of it! Put your brain to work and think of a solution instead of sitting there doing nothing. It makes life happier and less filled with anger.

You have probably already learned this in primary school but I just wanted to give a reminder. So go to that friend or family member that you are mad at and tell them. Let's make today, Empty Your Feelings Day. Tell anyone (even me!) what you've really wanted to tell them. It'll feel good to get it out!

I hope you enjoyed and if you haven't already, go check out the Blogscars over at Neal's blog!

DIY Valentine's Day Room Decor

Hello everyone!! Annddddd it begins. The weeks of Valentine's Day. For all you anti-love people, I am advising you to X out of this post. But don't frown, I have a special anti-Valentine's Day post coming up soon. Also, thank you for all for the amazing comments on my last post, you are amazing!!! Let's get into this post.

For this DIY I am going be showing you 3 different ways to decorating with one simple procedure.

THE PROEDURE

So basically, we will be cutting hearts.

STEP 1:
Grab a piece of paper and scissors

STEP 2:
Fold your paper and cut out half a heart

Unfold and you have a heart. Now let's see how we can turn this simple heart into something amazing.

Heart Wall Collage
For this DIY, all you need are a bunch of hearts and tape. I arranged all the hearts on my door and it made this super cute heart collage. You can arrange them however you want. You can even make the hearts into one big heart!!

Hearts For String Lights
These days, a lot of people have string lights in their rooms. I decided that it would be cool to attach hearts to them! All you need to do is cut little rectangular boxes out of the heart and sliding them onto the lights.

TIP: The slits shouldn't be so big!

Slide through like so

Heart cutout wall art
Okay, so you have all of these cutout hearts...what do you do with the scraps? Turn them into cute wall art of course. I taped mine to my wall and it looks very nice.

Welp, I hope you enjoyed and be sure to use the hashtag #sunshinediy if you do any of these! Leave a comment down below sharing what you would like to see on the blog :)

ITS MY BLOG BIRTHDAY

Hello everyone!!!! *throws glitter* *dances and releases balloons*. AAHHHHH I CANT BELIEVE IT!! and now, a speech.

ITS MY BLOG BIRTHDAY. It has been 365 days since I have written my first post ever. I can't believe where I am today.

My blog gets 100 pageviews per day and an average of 20 comments on each post. That is crazy. I never realized that I would get here and that my blog would ever become "popular".

I want to thank the Academy...no. I want to thank the following people for helping me in my journey: June, Lexie, Livy, Libbie, Lily, Emily, Jollygirl, Oakstar, Morning, Eve, and soooooo many more! Plus, all of you!

I was totally clueless at the beginning as I'm sure most of us were. My first post was not regular, I didn't really talk about myself. But I just wanted to say, you can do it. BLOGGING TAKES TIME. You are not going to be a star overnight. (Puhlease don't act like a blogging star in your first month of blogging also.)

I always get super nice emails and comments saying that I inspire people and that I am really cool and nice and I just love that. So thank you, for helping me become who I am.

AFTER ONE YEAR I HAVE EARNED:

14,837 pageviews, 838 comments, 34 followers, and 196 posts.

You are amazing. Thank you for joining me.

But snow can be good because, NO SCHOOL!!!

I hope you enjoyed this little random rant about snow. If you would like more snow stuff, be sure to comment down below telling me!! I GOT LIKE 40 COMMENTS ON MY LAST POST TYSM!!!
