Calling All Guest Posters!

Hello everyone! I HIT 90 FOLLOWERS, 10 AWAY FROM 100, WHOOP WHOOP! I've decided that I'll do a giveaway when I hit 100 followers, or maybe 50,000 hits.

Anyways, I'm really busy this summer so I might not have the chance to post a lot, so I've decided to have some guest posters on the blog.

There will be two (ish) options. 1, interview, and 2 regular post. (The other 'ish' one is a swap)

1) Interview

For the interview, all you'll have to do is answer the following questions:

1) A little bit about you? (Name, blog name, some fun facts, etc)
2) How long have you been blogging for? Tell us your short blogging story.
3) What are some of your fandoms?
4) What's your favorite part of blogging?
5) What are some of your hobbies?
6) What's the story behind your blog name?
7) Who are your inspirations and who are your favorite bloggers?
7) What do you look for in a friend?
8) Give some advice to new bloggers.
9) AND THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION. Chocolate or vanilla?

Send me an email here answering the questions and if you have one, send your blog button!

2) Regular post

This is a bit different.

So first, contact me with this form: (and you know, what else you want to talk about :P)

Name/nickname
Blog name
Category
Topic

And once I give the okay, send your post!

Here are some of the categories you can guest post about (you can really do whatever you want, these are just some suggestions): DIY, how-to, writing, thoughts, photography, fashion, review, blogging tips.

3-ish) Interview or guest post swap

For this, it's basically the same as those two, you just have to let me know in the beginning that you want a swap.

Interview- answer the questions and then give me a couple questions!
Guest post- fill the form out, and then ask me if I want to swap, and give me a topic I should do (that is optional)

***

That seemed more organized than it should be XD Anyways, I would LOVE to hear from you guys and see your answers to the questions, and your lovely posts!

I'm not going to post guest posts every post, I will post regular stuff :)

Mkay bye,
Noor

If Hermione Went to the Percy Jackson World

Hello everyone! Today I am going to be participating in Kate's writing chain! The prompt that I am choosing is to imagine a fictional character in another fictional world. So I choose Hermione and I'm going to put her in the PJO world :D

Note: I added some stuff for the purpose of the story

"Ron, I'm going out to town." Hermione walked over to her bedside table and grabbed her old bag. On her way out, she planted a kiss on his face.

"Alright darling, don't be out for too long, it's almost dinnertime." Ron replied, returning the kiss.

"Mum, mum, wait!" Hugo ran down the stairs, panting. "Don't forget the chocolate frogs!"

Hermione smiled and kissed Hugo on the head. "I'll bring them sweetheart." She stood back up and walked out the door.

Before she Apparated to the Leaky Cauldron, Hermione noticed a rather peculiar looking necklace on the grass. It had several beads and a trident pendant hanging from the twine.

She picked this up and examined it. It didn't look like something that Rose or Hugo would wear. She pulled out her wand and thoroughly examined it. The necklace wasn't magical.

While she was carefully looking at it, a young boy in an orange t-shirt came running towards her. He had jet black hair and the most interesting eyes. His shirt read Camp Halfblood.

Is he a wizard? Hermione wondered.

"I think that's mine, um thanks." the boy took it out of her hand and smiled.

He stood and started to concentrate.

"What are you doing?" Hermione asked, glaring at the boy. The boy realized he was far from home, this lady's accent was not like his.

"I'm trying to get back to my home, this might look weird, I know, just forget you ever saw me" the boy had an odd accent, Hermione had never heard it before.

"Oh, I think I can help. Take my hand and think of your home, and you'll be there." Hermione held out her hand and smiled at the boy.

The boy nervously took Hermione's hand and closed his eyes.

"Camp Halfblood" he muttered.

When he opened his eyes, he was back home, but Hermione, the woman who had helped him was a young girl, around his age. What happened? Is this woman a witch or something?

Hermione felt shorter, she looked at herself. She was her 15 year old self.

She looked around at his "home", it looked strangely like a camp. Camp Halfblood, of course. Who is this kid

The two turned to each other and said:

"What are you?"

This is pretty bad, but it was fun to write!! You guys should go check out Kate's writing chain on her blog!

HOW TO: Destress

Hello everyone! This post doesn't need an explanation, I'm just going to get into this.

Doctor's Note

Condition: Stress/Worry
Symptoms: Wanting to scream and just sleep all the time, so many thoughts on mind

So recently I've been very stressed and busy with everything that I need to give myself a break, so here a few things that I like to do to relax, enjoy :)

Prescription:

Take a bath and listen to music

This is so relaxing, just taking my mind off of everything and chilling in the bath tub, jamming out to some Fall Out Boy.

"Just let the problems go down the drain"- me

Read

LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND TELL ME READING ISN'T RELAXING. (maybe if it's for school or it's a hard book)

Grab a book and a drink and just lay in bed and read, it's one of my favorite things.

Vent to someone

When I feel stressed, I just grab my mom or dad or a friend and tell them all my problems, they're good listeners.

The person doesn't have to say anything back, you can just tell them whatever is on your mind. (Make sure you trust that person, of course)

Sometimes, I'll just scream into a pillow and that will work too.

Sleep

Just escape all your problems and sleep, sleep away the worries. When you wake up, you'll probably feel much more refreshed and then you'll realize that you were worried and stressed out for nothing!

Repeat until symptoms are gone.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and that it helped you!

Don't forget, SBBC 2 just began so start reading!!

How To Become A Fan of a Band/Artist

Recently, I’ve become OBSESSED with many bands and singers.  *starts singing Hallelujah by P!ATD* So today, I’m going to teach you all how to become a band fangirl/fanboy. I’ll be using Fall Out Boy as my example.

STEP 1: Discover the band

While scrolling through Spotify, Pandora, or flipping through stations on the radio, you may come across a song from this band.

Ex: *le me flipping through radio stations* SO LIGHT EM UP UP UP LIGHT EM UP UP UP LIGHT EM UP UP UP I’M ON FIYAHHHHH

Me: “This is a cool song!” *pulls out phone* Siri, what song is this?

Siri: This is ‘My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by Fall Out Boy.”

Me: “Hmm, Fall Out Boy, sounds cool! I should look them up.”

STEP 2: Finding the music

So now that you’ve discovered them, you’ve searched them up on Spotify and now you’re jamming out to their songs.

“DANCE DANCE, WE’RE FALLING APART TO HALFFTIMMEEEE”
“I SAID I. DON’T. CARE WHAT YOU THINK”
“WHAT A CATCCHHHHHHH”
“REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIESSS”

And now you’re obsessed with the music, now you gotta get obsessed with the band.

STEP 3: Learning about the band

Now that you’ve found the band and listened to their music, you find yourself looking them up on Google.

*me on the computer, googles FOB* “Okay cool, so the lead singer is Patrick Stump. Aww, he looks adorable. The bassist is Pete Wentz, ooh he’s kinda cute, andddd he’s 37, never mind. The drummer is Andy Hurley, he looks awesome. And the guitarist is Joe Trohman, nice hair dude.”

And then you look them up on Wikipedia.

“NOOO POOR 2005 PETE. He had some sick guyliner though. And Patrick was so cute, how dare people be mean to him for being fat. Andy totally put the band together, that’s awesome! AND JOE STARTED THE WHOLE THING, GOOD FOR HIM.”
“WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. Folie a Deux is an AMAZING ALBUM.”

And then you end up looking at the band members, that’s when you get obsessed.

STEP 4: Becoming fully obsessed

Now, you find yourself constantly watching interviews on Youtube, jamming out to all their songs, all the time and spending all your time making your room a shrine to them. You also see yourself having arguments such as these on various band forums:
"OKAY ANDY HURLEY DOES NOT GET ENOUGH CREDIT. He is an amazing drummer with so much talent. EVERYONE ONLY KNOW PETE AND PATRICK. (Don’t get me wrong, I love them.) BUT ANDY AND JOE ARE AMAZING. WITHOUT THEM, FOB WOULDN’T BE FOB. Your argument is invalid."
Your room is now a shrine to the band, you have several band t-shirts and merch and now you’re stuck in a fandom void.
Hey, don’t blame me, you got yourself into this.
Oh what’s that song? Tear In My Heart by Twenty One Pilots? NOT THIS AGAIN.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and GET READING! If you have a review on any of the books that we read last session, leave the link in the comments and I’ll check it out!

DIY Washi Tape Crafts

Hello everyone! Today I (finally) have a DIY for you! This one involves washi tape, one of my favorite crafting items :D I have 2 for you, so let's get into it!

Washi tape calendar

One of the best parts about washi tape is that it doesn't leave marks on walls or furniture! So, I created a little washi-tape calendar on my wall!

Step 1

I took a long piece of solid tape to write the days of the week.

It can be as big as you want! But don't make it too long.

Step 2

Now you're going to make the little date markers. For each number, I cut up a small square of paper:

Next, I took some of my washi tape and I covered one side of the paper with it. It should look something like this:

Finally, you can add the number. I used Sharpie, it will probably work better.

This process takes a while, I didn't get to finish before I wrote this post.

Step 3

Now, you can create the month thing! I just used paper and wrote July :P

Washi tape garland

I've seen this all over Pinterest but I thought I'd try it!

Step 1

Take a piece of washi tape and put the string on the sticky side, somewhere in the middle.

(really bad picture, sorry)

Now, fold it so the sides meet.

And, this is optional, but I made a design on the end:

And you're done!

I hope you enjoyed! (Ignore the horrible pictures) SBBC 2 IS COMING NEXT POST, FINISH YOUR BOOKS!

Thanks for reading,
Noor

Why Can't Boys Like Pink?

Hello everyone! So um, I have no intro so let's just get into the post :)

I was with my younger cousins today (both boys). I was playing this game on my phone and my little cousin, how about we call him S, (age 6) asked me if he could play. Of course, I handed him my phone. Then, my other cousin (let's call him K), age 10, walked in and saw him playing. He snatched the phone away and told him:

"You can't play that game! That's a girl game."

I stood there for a second and looked at him. Then, I decided to ask him what he thought a girl game was. He answered:

"Something with pink, fashion, cooking, you know girl stuff!"

So there's girl stuff? And boy stuff? I mean sure, in preschool, everyone thought that blue was for boys and pink for girls. (Of course, that's not okay either) But now? In 2015? And a kid at age 10 is thinking this?

So a little bit later at night, I asked my uncle for a toothbrush. He gave me a black and blue one. S grabbed it and said:

"That's a boy toothbrush, go ask for a pink one. You can't use this one."

But, K took it from S, gave it back to me and said to S:

"It's okay, girls can use boy stuff but boys can't use girl stuff."

Why is it okay for girls to use 'boy stuff', but boys can't use 'girl stuff'? What's the logic in that?

Why do guys get bullied for liking fashion and cooking but it's fine for girls to do so-called 'boy stuff'?

People say all kinds of things about equality, but really, the genders can't be equal until everyone thinks the same! Kids like my cousins have been brainwashed to think that pink is for girls, and blue is for boys.

Unless we stop this 'girl stuff' and 'boy stuff' crap, no one is going to be equal! What if S actually enjoyed that 'girl game' that he was playing? But he can't play it because it's for girls.

There's no such thing as 'boy stuff' and 'girl stuff'. There's just STUFF! (Unless it's clothes :P) Kids need to be taught that in preschool.

Okay sorry for the rant, I just felt that this needed to be said. Also, here's a Buzzfeed video similar to this, I found it quite interesting

What are your thoughts on this topic? I'd love to hear :)

What I Look For In A Blog

Hello everyone! I'm in the wonderful Cali for the next couple weeks, hooray! Anyways, today I'm going to talk about the things I look for when I read a blog. Let's get into the post :)

1. Nice grammar/spelling/no acronyms

I am a grammar freak. If you make a grammar mistake, I will correct you. So if I see this on a blog:

OMG!1! Todey I went to the mall wiht my besties! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! My freind told me this witch was tots hilars: "look at that dude over they're, he looks like sully from monsters INC." LOL!!

NO STOP. Back it up. This is a blog. Not social media. "OMG" and "LOL" shouldn't be used in this situation. Plus, there are so many spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes *cringe* Let's fix this:

Oh my goodness! Today I went to the mall with my best friends! We had so much fun! My friend told me something that was really funny: "Look at that guy over there, he looks like Sully from Monsters Inc!"

How you can avoid this: Proofreading! It's very important, spelling and grammar mistakes may seem small, but it could cost you blog readers.

2. The blogger writes about interesting things, not random stuff.

I don't want to read a blog post all about your super duper fun mall trip with your friends, no offense. Let's go back to the old paragraph:

Oh my goodness! Today I went to the mall with my best friends! We had so much fun! My friend told me something that was really funny: "Look at that guy over there, he looks like Sully from Monsters Inc!"

Now, let's fix it by making it a bit more interesting. Maybe, you can turn it into a haul!

Today I went to the mall with my best friends! We had so much fun! So today, I am going to share some of the things I bought. Hope you enjoy :)

How you can avoid this: Before you hit 'Publish' , think about whether the post seems interesting. Sure, it might seem fun to you, but would your readers find this post enjoyable or helpful?

3.  I can actually look at your post without my eyes hurting.

Everyone wants to experiment with all the cool fonts and colors and things that Blogger has to offer, c'mon don't lie to me. But sometimes, those cool fonts and colors, can hurt the eyes. Raise your hand if you want to read a post like this.

HELLO EVERYONE! Today, I'm doing the Me tag!  I HOPE YOU ENJOY I was tagged by Pete Wentz, thanks Pete!

Did anyone get the reference I made there? ;)  Anyways, I bet none of you raised your hand. I can't read a post like this, so if your posts look like this, I would suggest changing it.

Now the blog design is a whole different story. Comment "Nice!" if you want a post on How To Make Your Blog Design Look Good :)

4. You post often

If I click on your blog and see that you haven't posted in 10 days, chances are I'll click away. (There are exceptions of course, blog breaks, vacation, etc)

I understand if you can't post for a certain reason, but if you actually forgot to post, that tells me a lot, and it's not a good thing.

How you can avoid this:  Try your best to post regularly, don't slack off. And maybe keep a schedule, that's what works for me :)

I hope you enjoyed today's post and that it helped you a bit. Oh yeah, comment down below if you got my Fall Out Boy reference :P

What do you look for in a blog?

Mkay bye,
Noor

P.S- I changed the design a bit, it's now mint. The blue was changing and it became weird so I changed it :)

DIY Kool-Aid Slushie (and SBBC Session 1)

Hello everyone! I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS POST! Today is the beginning of the awesome Summer Blogger Book Club!!! WHOOP WHOOP! So I'll share some stuff about that, and then I have a quick recipe for a yummy Kool-Aid Slushie! Yay! Let's get into the post :D

YAYYYYYY! Who's excited, I know I am :D Alright, let's look at the books you get to read this session.

A Year Without Autumn- Liz Kessler

On her way to visit her best friend, Autumn, Jenni Green suddenly finds she's been transported exactly one year forward in time. Now she discovers that in the year that's gone by, tragedy has
struck and her friendship with Autumn will never be the same again. But what caused the tragedy?

Goodreads link

Fangirl- Rainbow Rowell
(Note: this book does have swearing)

Cath is a Simon Snow fan, a huge one. But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

Goodreads link

We Were Liars- E.Lockhart
(This is the book that I'll be reading)

A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

Counting By 7's- Holly Goldberg Sloan

Willow Chance is a twelve-year-old genius, obsessed with nature and diagnosing medical conditions, who finds it comforting to count by 7s. It has never been easy for her to connect with anyone other than her adoptive parents, but that hasn’t kept her from leading a quietly happy life... until now.

Suddenly Willow’s world is tragically changed when her parents both die in a car crash, leaving her alone in a baffling world. The triumph of this book is that it is not a tragedy. This extraordinarily odd, but extraordinarily endearing, girl manages to push through her grief. Her journey to find a fascinatingly diverse and fully believable surrogate family is a joy and a revelation to read.

Goodreads link

Those are all the books that we will be discussing! Remember, if you cannot get access to any of these books, let me know which book you want to read in the comments :)

Don't forget to participate during the session by sharing discussions on the Goodreads group and maybe sharing a review on your blog!

Happy reading everyone :D Now onto the recipe :D

DIY Kool-Aid Slushie

Ingredients:
2 cups ice water
1 packet Kool Aid drink mix (use your favorite flavor) or 1 tablespoon of the powder
A little bit more than 1/2  cup sugar
4 cups or 1 full tray of ice cube

Instructions:
Put all of the ingredients into your blender.
Process until well blended
(If your blender has modes, set it on ice crush)
This was sort of a "Pintertest" and it turned out pretty well. But here are some things I learned.
-Don't blend for too long, otherwise it doesn't have that slushie like feeling.
-Put a little more sugar, the Kool-Aid flavor is a bit strong.
I hope you enjoyed today's post and GET READING!!
Mkay bye,

 P.S- Here's a link to a drink recipe I did last year ;)
