10 Little Things To Do On Earth Day (But Really Anyday)

Hello everyone! Happy Earth Day! Honestly, every day is Earth Day, we shouldn't need a specific day to celebrate our wonderful planet. I've created a list of 10 things you could potentially do for Earth Day, but honestly you should do these things every day. Care for the Earth friends.

1) Be conscious of your trash and your recycling. Before you throw something away, look to see whether you can throw it in the recycling or whether it's safe to throw it in the trash or not. If you're not sure, check out this link or just look it up. Save the planet, part one.

2) Get people educated. You can do this in several ways, for example, writing a blog post such as this one! Or you can just tell your friends about it, remind them to do the things on this list. If you wanted to take it farther, you can start some campaigns, but these are just small little things. Of course, starting a big campaign is wonderful, especially on Earth Day or other Earthy days like this one. (Earthy? that's probably not a word??) Save the planet, part two.

3) Plant some things, not necessarily trees. Of course, planting trees is hard, you have to have a good spot, blah. But you can also plant some flowers, and restore the natural plant life! Plant them in your backyard, or maybe a park with permission. You can never have too many flowers. Save the planet, part three.

4) Take a couple hours one day to clean up a park or any other place. Gather up a couple friends, get some bags, and pick up some litter. Parks are usually filled with litter, which no one bothers to pick up and it pollutes the area. Cleaning up litter takes only an hour and you're cleaning up your planet, even if it's a little part of it. Save the planet, part four.

5) Have a garden party! Invite some friends over again and plant stuff. You can have loads of fun with this, and seed packets are usually quite cheap so plant stuff, appreciate planting and being outside. Save the planet, part five.

6) Don't waste things. Turn off the faucet when you're not using it, especially when you're doing the dishes. Try to take less baths so you don't waste water and take shorter showers. Turn off the lights when you're currently not in that room, Simple, little things. The only hard part is being alert, it takes time, but if you set your mind to it, you can do it. Stick little Post-It notes by doors if you have to. Save the planet, part six.

7) Bring your own things. Keep your own waterbottle instead of constantly wasting deathly plastic bottles. When you go grocery shopping, bring your own bags instead of using deadly plastic bags. My grocery store sells reusable bags for 99 cents. 99 cents people. 99 cents versus the death of animals in the ocean. Save the planet, part seven.

8) Try walking more. Don't drive somewhere that's 2 minutes walking distance. It's a waste, it pollutes the air. Get some exercise and give the air a break. Walking isn't that bad. Save the planet, part eight.

9) Be persuasive, be driven. If there's an environmental issue in your area/state/region that you'd like to address, send some letters! Tell people like senators, governors, etc, about your feelings on the issue and try to get it changed. Even if you're young, you still have a voice. Convince friends and peers to send letters as well, the more working with you, the merrier. Although they might not respond, if you get enough people on it, you can get somewhere. Save the planet, part nine.

10) Just appreciate the planet. Go to parks, bike around, hike around, just love the planet and be outside. Care for it. We're the only planet with life (that we know of), be grateful for that.

Also don't forget to appreciate yourself. Save the planet, part ten.

Love the Earth, and the Earth will love you. Happy Earth Day everyone :)

One time I went down to the secluded river near my house to pick up the litter. Surprising there was a fair amount!

Hey! Yes you, you're about to leave a comment, why thank you! Just remember, if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all.
