A Little Bit Of Book Photography

Hello everyone! I decided to whip out the camera and get some book pictures today so I thought I'd share them with you. But before I share, I have some news:

I FINISHED NANOWRIMO! YAY! I wrote the whole month and finally did it! It was extremely difficult, especially since I'm an amateur, but it was very fun!

Second, I have a collab blog! It's open to all bloggers so I highly suggest you go on over and check it out!

And third, I'm redesigning the blog! I'll be going to a white background, simple and sweet :D. The header will be extra special though :)

Now, to the photography, comment your favorite!

Books and Reading: A Book Challenge

Hello everyone! I was browsing le internet when I came up with an awesome idea! Why not try a book tag/challenge! Yay! I'm not tagging anyone, but I invite anyone who wants to do it, please do!

RULES:

Must answer all questions
Repost the picture with a link to Noor's blog
You MAY tag people if you would like, but it isn't required
Have fun!

THE QUESTIONS:

1. April TBR? (To be read)
The whole The Mortal Instruments series. I am almost done with The City Of Bones, can't wait to see the movie!

2. Book (series) you would like to see as a movie?
The Selection series! I love it, I think it would make a great movie. I did a review on it right here!

3. Overhyped book/author?
If I Stay. I mean it was a great book, but I didn't actually cry and I felt like it wasn't as great as everyone said. Would you guys like a review?

4. The best book series you will ever read?
Harry Potter, hands down. BEST SERIES EVER OK. No argument there.

5. Book to movie adaption that was really bad?
The Percy Jackson movie series.  It was just bad, very baaddddd.

Don't get me wrong, the books were great! But the way they carried it out into the movie, wasn't great. I felt like the actors couldn't feel the characters and play them like they were, but I'm not an actor, so I don't know :P

6. Books that just made you cry.
TFIOS. This is so cliché, I know, but that book was sad. John Green set us up, he set Gus up for slaughter, ITS NOT FAIR.

Harry Potter would be next because of ALL THE DEATHS in the last book.

7. Book you're reading right now? Give it a quick rating.

I am currently reading: The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, by Cassandra Clare. AND OH MY ROWLING, THIS BOOK. I will do a review soon, no, I NEED to do a review soon.

I would rate this book: 4.2/5 stars for awesomeness and 1/5 stars because it broke my heart with all the plot twists and AH.

8. A book series that you just didn't like?
I would probably say the Matched Series. It was just too much for me. The author tried to combine every single dystopian book ever made into one dystopian series and it was way too much. Plus, the love triangle was just insane!

9. Book that you haven't read yet, but really need to?
The Death Cure, aka the third book in the Maze Runner series. I've kinda been purposely avoiding this book because of, page 250... And because I heard that no one likes the ending and I'm too scared to pick it up, AH.

10. Come up with your own question!!

I hope you enjoyed this little tag/challenge! Let me know if you do this on your blog, that would be awesome!!

Mkay bye,
Noor

The Elite/Kiera Cass- A Review

Helloooo everybodyyyy!! I'm doing a reviewwww, finalllllyyy!! UHM YAY! So, I never really did a review on "The Selection", the first book in this series, but just go look it up. LETTTT'SSS GETTT INTTOOOO THE POST

The Elite

In America Singer’s world, a bride is chosen for the prince through an elaborate, televised competition. InThe Elite, America is one of only six girls left in the running. But is it Prince Maxon—and life as the queen—that she wants? Or is it Aspen, her first love?
How I Liked The Book

Overall, this book was nicely written. Great plot line, with lots of twists and turns. I love the fact that it is a dystopian/romance novel with a competition. Basically: Hunger Games plus Divergent plus the Matched Series.

This book wouldn't let me put it down. It was so intriguing with the ups and downs in the Maxon/America/Aspen thing.

Discussion SPOILERS
THIS BOOK. WHAT. OKAY WHAT, WHAT WHAT.

Let's divide the characters up. AMERICA. SO STUPID. WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

America: You obviously know Maxon is totally in love with you. And then you wait until he goes for Kriss and THEN you realize how much you love him. WHY ARE YOU SO CRUEL.

Maxon: Now onto Maxon. He was BY FAR the best character in this book, sweet, caring. He loved Mer so so much. Ugh, there was ONE thing that I really hated about him. His intimate relationship with Celeste. BUDDY, HELLOOOO, YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH AMERICA. NOT STUPID CELESTE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

Aspen: Aspen. Aspen, Aspen, Aspen. LEAVE. WE DON'T NEED YOU. This whole story should be Mer and Maxon. NO ASPEN. BUH-BYE. that is all.

Marlee: MARLEEEEE! What the heck were you thinking girlfrand. You should have just ASKED to leave or whatever! That would save you the drama of becoming an 8 and getting CANED.

Celeste: OKAY CELESTE. NO NO, BUH-BYE TO YOU TOO. Go fall in love with Aspen or whatever.

Mkay, all done! In short, this book gave me trust issues, and toyed with my emotions. BUTTTTT, it gets a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars!! Yup, that's how I rate ma books.

Mkay bye,
Noor

I Am Malala- Book Talk

Hello everyone! I recently finished the book I Am Malala. I decided to do a book talk because there are a lot of things I wanted to talk about.

THE OVERVIEW

Malala Yousafzai is a 16 (I think) year old Pakistani girl who has a big story. When she was only 15 years old, she was shot in the head. She was a big activist for women's rights and more specifically women's education. Her home, Swat Valley in Pakistan, didn't give very equal rights to women. They believed that women should stay home and cook, clean, and take care of children. Men were thought as the superior gender.

She and her family didn't believe in this, she stood up for what she believed in and wrote a blog about her life as a girl living in Swat under a different name. Her father was also an activist so she started to go to a lot of events and soon started giving speeches of her own. Malala was Pakistan's heroine. She believed everyone is equal and so do I.

THE TALK

I believe no man/woman is greater than the other, we are all equal.
No matter how tall, or how small, we are all equal.
No matter what gender, man or women, we are all equal.
Age doesn't matter either, we are still all equal.
We were created to help, not harm.
We were created to save, not kill.
If every human being in this world believes like me, we will be equal.

I wrote this little poem, We Are All Equal, to share how I feel and how Malala feels. She was shot, but she was shot for a reason that she felt so passionate about. It inspired me and she inspired me to write this blog. I wanted and still want to be just like her when I grow up.

The book was amazing. It was detailed and written so beautifully. I enjoyed reading about how Malala lived. It was so interesting to learn about where my mother visits every year. (I'll explain in the next paragraph)

Every year, my mom goes to Pakistan. She visits family and does research. Most of her research is on Swat Valley. She learned about the Taliban (a terrorist group in Pakistan) and how girls/women like Malala lived. She even met Malala's father which I thought was awesome.

Anyways, I should stop before I ramble too much. I totally recommend this book and give it a 4 out of 5 stars. I hope you enjoyed and be sure to enter the BBK Feature Challenge, we've had our first entry but June of Curious Pieces!

Thanks for reading,
Noor

Fabulous FRIDAY= DIVERGENT!!

Hello everyone! Today, I am doing a book review/book talk about the book DIVERGENT. I just finished Insurgent today but I will do a review on that later...

DESCRIPTION

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

REVIEW

I adored this book. It has now ended up as my second favorite book. I love how it is written, how you can always understand what is going on. Also, I couldn't put the book down. I read it from start to finish for 2 hours straight. It was impossible to stop, they are that good. I would totally recommend this book although it does have some strong kissing scenes so maybe 10+. I would rate it 4 stars. Next up I have the fangirling section which has all the spoilers so if you have read the book, you may view the next section.

FANGIRLING

Veronica Roth, I hate you, but I love you at the same time. Okay so TRIS and FOUR!!! Totally the best couple since Amy and Rory/Hermione and Ron. They are like totally perfect.

But why must you kill, Veronica? WHY? Will was like my favorite character, he was so awesome, but nope, under simulation, dead.

Plus, Tris's reaction when her mom died, I cried like a lot.

There were a lot of things I didn't like such as how it was soooo much like the Hunger Games. I liked this one better but still. Factions= Districts. War between factions= war between Capitol and rebels. SAME THING.

I kind of wanted Christina and Caleb to be a thing. It would be like Ron and Hermione. The fun one bringing joy and fun to the smart and quiet one, perfect!

But I did totally fangirl at every Tris and Four moment, it was magical! I also fangirled when Christina told Tris she kissed Will.

Welp, that's enough fangirling for one day! Make sure to enter the BBK Feature Challenge! Even if you have already been featured, you can still win something cool!

Thanks for reading,
Noor

New Book

Hello everyone! Today, I have an exciting post for you all! I've started to write a book and I'm going to share with you Chapter One/Two! Here it is:

Chapter 1- Stranded on a Raft
“Don’t you dare touch the water” The voice of my father rang through my head as I slept. I woke up to the sound of the seagulls crying. I sat up and looked around me. Water, water everywhere.

Then, I remembered I was stranded on a raft in the middle of the ocean. Not daring to step foot (or tail in my case) in the water.
How silly of me, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Piper Melander and I am a mermaid.

Chapter 2- The Human Encounter
You must be wondering, how the fisherman did I get on this raft? I’m getting to that so stay put. My father, the king of the mermaids, is a kind man, right? NOT! I mean seriously who puts their own daughter on a raft in the middle of the ocean?
The “horrible thing” that I did actually isn’t so horrible. One day, I was sitting on my rock combing my hair with a sea shell, when all of a sudden, I see this beautiful creature. The creature is tall, has blond hair, but no tail? He has these two things called legs, which I’ve never seen before, only in the stories.

I swim over to him and ask him what’s wrong. He stares at me and then I remember, no talking to the “humans” (apparently those are the creatures with legs). The human doesn’t seem so mean so I stay, waiting for an answer, which was the wrong thing to do. Then, the weirdest and scariest thing happens. The human pulls out a small device, points it at me and then I hear a CLICK and a flash. I freak out and scream, and the human drops the device and runs. I pick it up and swim down back to Merlandia, my home.
I swim home quickly to my palace and open the gates of my father’s room. “Father, father, you’ll never guess what I saw.” I tell him.
“What is it my dear?” he replies
“I saw a human! A tall one and he dropped this!” I show my father the small device. My father stares wide-eyed at the device and then calls in our best scientist to examine it. The scientist says it’s a dangerous device called a camera. I gasp and tell my father what the human did with the camera.
“You came up close with a human!” my father bellowed. “You know that is breaking the law”
“I know Father, but I only asked him what was wrong!” I said gently.
“YOU TALKED TO HIM!” my father shouted. “Arrest her!”
“Father, what are you doing? Father, I’m your daughter, Piper! FATHER!” I shouted as the guards carried me through the door.
I knew I was never Father’s favorite. He adored my brother Walter. After Walter died in a boat accident, Father was never the same again. He had a short temper and didn’t care for anyone. It wouldn’t matter to him if I was gone. I’m just Piper, just Piper.

So? How do you like it? Do you want more? Put it in the comments below. 30 Day coming later today!
