DIY Mini Book

Hello everyone! Finally, I have a little (literally) DIY for you! It's a mini book that you can make out of things around your house :D Here goes:

You Will Need:

-Felt/fabric
-Cardboard
-Paper

Step 1

First, cut out 2 small pieces of cardboard (mind were 1 inch x 1 1/4 inch) and 2 pieces of felt and paper the same size.

Step 2

Now glue the paper on one side of each of the cardboard pieces and the felt on the other side.

Step 3

Take a hot glue gun or some strong adhesive and glue the two pieces together like an open book.

So take the right part of the book, put some hot glue on the left side (the side that shouldn't be covered with paper) of it and place it where the blue line is on the picture:

Step 4

Now, for the spine, get a thin piece of felt, paper, ribbon, etc and glue it on the part where the spine should be.

Step 5

There's still parts where there's brown from the cardboard. So in order to cover those, take some thin slips of felt or paper and cover those parts.

Make sure you put the felt/paper in the spots where they make sense. I put paper strips on the top and bottom, that's what a normal book would feel like. And then I put felt on the sides, to make it like a book jacket.

Step 6

If you want to, you can write in it! I just wrote random things. Just letting you know, it's difficult to write in some parts so xD

Step 7

You're finished! You can make it a little charm, add it to a necklace, give it to your dolls, make a bunch and give them to your friends, or put them with your books!

The possibilities are endless. So have fun with your mini book :D You can also just bask in its adorableness :P

I hope you enjoyed this DIY, it was really fun to make and I think you guys will have fun making it too :) Customize them to your liking!

P.S - I finally got a tripod! It's really cool and works amazingly. *dances* My outfit posts should improve drastically xD

Signs You're A Hardcore Fan

Hello everyone! I think we're all fangirls (boys) here.. I mean you gotta be a fan of something. But there are few of us that are hardcore fangirls (boys). Not sure? Here are a few signs you are a hardcore fan.

1) You don't think about the boys/girls at school. It's all fictional characters for you.

Psh, who cares about those lameos? Draco Malfoy is where is at man. Fictional characters will always treat you better, I mean, they're 10x cooler. The only negative factor is that well, they're not real..

2) You know EVERYTHING.

What time was Dan Howell born? 3 AM, common knowledge. Gotta know it all, fangirlmon! Literally, someone can speed off any question about your fandom and you know it all. Sometimes, you start to scare your friends.

3. You ship everyone and everything.

From those two in math class, to the mailman and your hairdresser, you ship everyone. Everyone is in a relationship with everyone. It's just obvious they're in love right?

4. Your room is literally a shrine.

Pictures, notes, posters, everything. Your room is dedicated to your fandoms. You might as well light a candle and chant quotes to your fandom gods.

5. You can get in an argument whenever a hater insults any aspect of your fandom.

Wanna insult my OTP, go ahead. You want to try saying a negative thing about my fandom, be my guest. Just remember, fandom never forgets :)

6. You get excited by any mention of their name/fandom.

"Hey Fall Out Boy is on the radio" HOLD UP DIDDLY DARN RIGHT THERE, DROP EVERYTHING YOU'RE DOING. *hardcore jams to the song*

Can you relate? Or just with anything really.

7) You love your fandom, and even though you all are crazy and basically a cult, you're family.

Because fandom = family.

I hope you guys could relate to this. Let me know what fandoms you're in below. Chances are, we're in a fandom family together <3 We can all be crazy together xD

Title: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Author: J.K. Rowling

Summary:
Harry Potter has no idea how famous he is. That's because he's being raised by his miserable aunt and uncle who are terrified Harry will learn that he's really a wizard, just as his parents were. But everything changes when Harry is summoned to attend an infamous school for wizards, and he begins to discover some clues about his illustrious birthright. From the surprising way he is greeted by a lovable giant, to the unique curriculum and colorful faculty at his unusual school, Harry finds himself drawn deep inside a mystical world he never knew existed and closer to his own noble destiny.

My Review:
Oh my gosh!!! This book is just so interesting and mystical! I would give my right hand to be in that world! (JK! But if I had magic wouldn't I be able to give myself a new one? Hmmm...)
Caution spoilers ahead!
Oh my gosh! When I started reading I thought for sure Snape's the bad guy, then when I got to the end I was all WHAT??!! I couldn't believe that p-p-poor st-st-st-stuttering Quirrel was the bad guy! (Get that book quote? No? Okay) Also the dark lord on the back of his head? Am I the only one who finds that creepy?
No more spoilers! You can read on!
I have the book at home and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

My Rating:
5 Stars

Okay so remember to stop by my blog The Dani Jones Blog for more posts like that.

Bye Sincerely Dani

Monday

set me up in flames

set me up in flames
watch me burn as the night turns gray

you betrayed me anyway
our friendship was lost.

you set my heart in flames
finish the deed

all that we had.
g o n e

your betrayal was a rising fire
the fuel was your words

stinging, burning in my heart
like wood cutting into my soul

i thought you were better than this
i knew you are better than this

but light the fire, watch me burn
as the sun returns in the sky

and my heart, and our friendship
lay broken on the remains of the forest

To All The Boys I've Ever Loved Before - Spoiler Free Review

Hello everyone! It's been AGES since I've done a book review and I've decided to do more soon, so yay xD Okay let's get into this..

I designed this myself, I hope you like it!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

-

Overall, this book was solid. Everything was really nice, I thought the plot flowed, and it most of the time made sense. It fell into very few stereotypes, and the love story was different.

The plot was simple, Lara Jean writes letters to her crushes and keeps them. People find them, she has to face the conflict. I could actually handle the love triangle, which is so rare for me. It wasn't stupid, and honestly I could't tell who she was going to end up with. Like the synopsis says, I like how the letters help Lara Jean learn something and because of those letters, she really finds her true self, and embraces several things about her.

But, the story had some stereotypes. Such as, Lara Jean and Peter (one of the boys she sends the letter to, and one of the boys in the love triangle) Lara Jean is a nobody in her school, but Peter is your average 'high school popular kid'. You get it? I think you do. high school nobody x popular kid

Like I said, the plot overall made sense, and I thought the conflict of the book was quite interesting. The idea of the letters is very unique, and what Han did with the story also made it cool.

I ADORED the characters. They were all so squish and loveable and asdfgjdlk (sorry i'll save the fangirl hey had like their own little cute personalities and I felt all of them grew through the story and they all learned something and sort of connected with each other. Aka, character development was perfect xD Why didn't I give it a 5 stupid me

Okay, as for the ending it really was a no for me. It was just bad and didn't explain much. I mean, endings are hard to right of course but I hated it. The ending was like the climax, (sort of) and left the reader off on a bad note. If you want a cliffhanger to the next book, you want to make it more subtle so the reader doesn't want to rip their hair out :)

I really liked Jenny Han's writing style. The character dialogue was hilarious and made me laugh out loud MULTIPLE times. Han was also very creative with this, like I talked about. I would have never thought of some of the things she came up with throughout the story. Did I mention character development?

Finally, appearance. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER! Yada yada, we all do don't lie. The cover of this book was pleasant. I liked how it depicted Lara Jean's room which is absolutely gorgeous and I want it so bad ahah. Also the font is gorgeous too. (don't judge)

I would recommend this book to people who like a little romance and humor. And if you can tolerate a decent love triangle. If you have no tolerance for love triangles and little stereotypes, you MAY want to steer clear of this book.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little review! Let me know if you want more reviews or possibly some spoiler book talks of certain books, I'd be happy to splurge my feelings.

Winter Book-A-Thon

Hello everyone! Using my (not so) creative juices, I have come up with yet another bookish challenge for you! I call it: The Winter Book-A-Thon!

If some of you remember SBBC, which failed completely, this is similar. But it shouldn't..fail completely..

What It Is

Basically, winter is the season of books because what's better than curling up with a book during the cold? Nothing, duh.

Every 2 weeks I'll challenge you with a new bookish challenge. They can be things like: A Book That Warms You Up. Or: A Book That Reminds You Of Winter. Sometimes these challenges can be placed with books that you've already read, or books that you can fit in with your TBR!

Everyone's probably going to read a different book. which makes this challenge unique and fun! And then, you can share your review of the book and maybe why you chose it for the challenge! Fun right?

Who can join? Everyone who likes to read.
Is there any book restrictions? Nope, just should fit the challenge for you.
How long do I have to finish a book? 2 weeks, but you can really pace yourself.
How do I sign up? Comment on this post and you're in! Wait for the first challenge :D
When do we start reading? At the end of this post, I'll announce the first challenge, so today!

OKAY THE FIRST CHALLENGE, we'll start out easy:

A book with a title that describes Winter to you. (only choose Winter by Marissa Meyer if you must)

Now let me know which book you'll be reading in the comments and get reading wintery book people! Go forth and read great things :D

I hope you guys find this fun, I certainly will :)

Impossible Year

There's no sunshine, this impossible year.
Only black days and sky gray, and clouds full of fear.

And storms full of sorrow, that won't disappear.
Just typhoons and monsoons, this impossible year.

There's no good times, this impossible year.
Just a beach front of bad blood and a coast that's unclear.

All the guests at the party, they're so insincere.
They just intrude and exclude, this impossible year.

There's no you and me, this impossible year.
Only heartaches and heartbreak, and gin made of tears.

There's never air to breath, there's never in betweens.
These nightmares always hang on past the dream.

Hello everyone! It was way too cold to take pictures outside today so here I am in my mom's study. Featuring: the door, some books, and Noor trying way too hard.

This outfit is really simple. It's all black, Uggs, and this really gorgeous, warm shawl that I got from Bangladesh. I probably wouldn't wear this to school but maybe for a friend visit. It's really comfortable and an upgrade to my normal all black.

I paired the song Impossible Year by Panic! At The Disco with this because I was just feeling that vibe you know? The lyrics of this are also so beautiful I just ahhh.

I like some of these pictures, shooting inside was really fun because I could experiment. I even tried rolling on some chairs, well that was more for fun xD

I hope you guys enjoyed this! Have a lovely day <3

Death of A Bachelor - Panic! At The Disco: Album Review

Hello everyone! My posting schedule has been way off lately but I swear, once I figure out what to post, I will post it xD I mean of course, my every other day cycle should be on track by Monday.

P!ATD recently released their new album. AND I LOVE IT SO FREAKIN MUCH. Therefore I decided to do an album review on it so I can show you how much I love it and then you can go listen to it and love it too. Alright? Alright.

(Most of these songs do not have bad words in them although a few have other somewhat inappropriate references in them. I will mark those with a *)

1) Victorious - This was one of the first tracks Panic! released from the album and it was great! It had this really upbeat feeling that gave off that vibe of "victorious". I enjoyed it, it wasn't my favorite but I thought it was nice and catchy.

2) Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time* - THIS SONG IS MY JAM. It's so fun and party like and has such a cool tone that's like a minor sort of thing. The lyrics are also so random and I'm 90% sure Brendon wasn't in his right mind when he wrote this, but I still love it so much.

3) Hallelujah - This was the first song released for DOAB. I think it's really nice and upbeat and has a fun rhythm to it. The lyrics are nice too, not as great as some of the others but they have meaning. (cough cough, DTMWAGT)

4) Emperor's New Clothes - I believe this was the song that officially announced the album so it had a lot of hype. It is an amazing song, I love the beat and the song itself. The message of the song is so interesting to me. Also the music video was freakin amazing.

5) Death of A Bachelor - This song was Brendon's tribute to Sarah (his wife). And Frank Sinatra. The song sounded sad at first but honestly, it had a little bit of upbeatness to it and that's why it's such a great song. The lyrics probably tie with Impossible Year for making the most sense so good job Brendon. And the fact that you can tell he wrote it for Sarah makes the song that much more special. (and those high notes though)

6) Crazy = Genius* - I LOVE THIS SONG. It's so crazy and like circus themed and just wacky and amazing and *takes a deep breath*. Everything about this song is so great, the lyrics are cool, the theme is cool, the key (?) is cool. I wasn't a fan of the little circus intersection towards the end but overall I loved this song.

7) LA Devotee - I love this song again. It gives me a nice cool vibe like I'm on the street or something. Like I'm traveling on a bus in NYC at night or something. I don't know, I just really like it and he talks about my star sign in it so yes. Lyrics are actually really nice and make some good quotes xD

8) Golden Days - Probably my least favorite on the album? I don't know, I like the beat and all I just felt like it dragged on a bit too long. Like he was forcing a long song on the album or something. Yeah, let's just leave it at that, shall we?

9) The Good, The Bad, and The Dirty* - ANOTHER FAVE. Pretty much the same description: love the beat, the music, the lyrics, and wowowow Brendon that voice though. Yeah great song, go listen to it, buy it, love it, cherish it.

10) House of Memories - This is like Victorious for me. I thought the lyrics were nice, and the beat/music was great and all, it just didn't hit me like the other ones did. I don't know, it was spectacular but it's not one of my favorites.

11) Impossible Year - Here it is. The sad one that made you cry. I love this song so much because the lyrics are just so beautiful and I need Brendon Urie to come and sing this for me because wowowow just please oh my. It's the PERFECT sad song and you need to listen to it. K bye.

OKAY that was my DOAB album review! I hope you enjoyed and that you will (you will) go check it out now. Panic! has really reinvented some new things and I love what they're doing with it. A+ Beebo.

ALSO! I created a survey! I'll put the little widget thing here so you can go and check it out :D

It would really helped if you filled it out! Plus you get a cookie at the end ;) Thank you :D

Refreshing Your 2016 + Contest Winners

Hello everyone! I'm home from vacation, so that means I can get back on my posting schedule :D Today's post is how you can get with that cliché "new year, new me" by doing some little things.

1.  Creating resolutions

This is kind of a cliche thing but it helps. This gives you an idea of what you want in 2016 and also gives you motivation.

There's a lot of posts online helping with sticking to your resolutions that can definitely help you! Make sure to create resolutions that you can actually accomplish and that seem realistic.

2.  Change up your music playlist

I find myself listening to the same songs over and over again and it gets a bit boring. (it doesn't but i should probably expand my horizons) Changing up your playlist can really give you a new start.

If you use Spotify, I would try using the browse option, it's helped me expand my music choices a lot :) You can also search up bands relating to your favorites! Here's my current playlist:

3. Try eating different things

Make a list of things you like and try things similar to it. Look up things on Pinterest. Keep an eye out for interesting things at the grocery store. There are many things you can do to expand your taste.

Doing this is similar to changing your playlist. It helps you start the year fresh!

4.  Create a bucket list.

This will help you do more cool and interesting things! Like the resolutions, make things realistic. Don't make a thing like travel to Japan if you know it can't happen this year. Doing this really makes you happy because it will inspire to get off your butt and stop procrastinating.

You can get inspiration from Tumblr and Pinterest as well as other places! Also, this is a thing that you really have to work to do. It takes courage to try new things, especially if you're more into staying home. It should help you come out of your shell and approach the year with happiness :D

5. Do the things you've been holding back.

Telling that person how you really feel about them. Starting that blog. Picking up a new hobby. *insert shia lebouf meme here*

Just do it! You'll feel refreshed, happy, and free. Pick up the weight on your heart and then you can finally start the new year. Who knows, maybe you doing the thing will even help someone else out, or make someone else happy :)

I hope you enjoyed and that this helped somewhat :) Now the winners of the contest!

3rd: Suzy from Craftz'n'Craziness
2nd: Fiona from Two Girls

FIRST PLACE: VIVIAN FROM DAY DREAMER, NIGHT THINKER!

Please email me about your prizes Fiona and Vivian!

Thanks for entering everyone! I'll do more contests soon you'll have more chances to win :D

Have a great Sunday and I hope your 2016 is amazing :)
