Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

Hello everyone! So I saw this tag on Lexie's blog and decided it might be fun to try! I hope no one kills me after this..

A POPULAR BOOK SERIES YOU DIDN'T LIKE

Don't hurt me, but the Maze Runner series. I liked the first book but I just didn't like the second one. I didn't really catch on and I couldn't understand. Too many things were happening for me and it was just crazy! I might go and reread it sometime.. I'm still excited for the movie though!

I also didn't really like the Matched series. No offense, but I thought it was really bad. The love triangle was no, and the thing of the plague was really really basic. It was your classic, unoriginal dystopian book.

A POPULAR AUTHOR YOU CAN'T SEEM TO GET INTO

Again, James Dashner, his books are a little too fast paced and crazy for me.

A LOVE TRIANGLE WHERE THE PROTAGINIST ENDED UP WITH THE PERSON YOU DIDN'T WANT THEM TO BE WITH

Ugh, the Matched series one. I loved Xander and really didn't like Ky. Cassia made the wrong choice in my opinion.

A POPULAR GENRE YOU HARDLY READ

Um, there really are none. I don't really read historical fiction? It's not that I don't like it, I just never find a good historical fiction book. Any recommendations?

A POPULAR/BELOVED CHARACTER YOU DISLIKE

Tris. Prior. I liked the Divergent series but Tris got on my nerves. I'm not going to go any farther because spoilers. Sorry guys.

A POPULAR SERIES YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN READING

None. I believe in giving each series a chance. I try to get halfway through a book before ditching it and I also try to read the first book of a series before stopping.

A SHOW/MOVIE ADAPTION THAT YOU LIKED BETTER THAN THE BOOK

Lord of the Rings. The books were so so slow and they got boring. But the movies were totally amazing and just ahhh!

A BOOK SERIES EVERYONE HATES BUT YOU SEEM TO LOVE

I've never seen anyone talk about the Kane Chronicles, not sure if they hate it. I love that series, it's amazing and it's classic quality Rick Riordan.

A POPULAR TROPE YOU'RE TIRED OF READING

PLAGUES. Too many plagues. Why all the deaths?

A POPULAR STYLE OF COVER YOU HATE

A random picture of scenery that doesn't work with the book.

I hope you enjoyed! And oh, I tag everyone who loves books! This was fun, and please don't leave me because I said I don't like Tris XD

Which book character annoys you the most?

Mkay bye,
Noor

  3. Oh, wow. Matched was just...horrible. Blech. I can't believe I even spent my time reading the first book. The entire concept was so...boring, really.

Also, same about Tris! Did you copy the answers from my post about the tag...? :P Just kidding.

I didn't know Rick Riordan wrote the Kane Chronicles! It's been popping up in my Goodreads feed but I've just been like "meh" mostly because I don't want to start getting into book series again--why can't people just write solo books anymore? Anwyay, now I want to check out that series! I love Rick Riordan ^^

  4. As far as historical fiction, I would say to check out The Romeo and Juliet Code, and its sequel, Romeo Blue. They're kind of predictable, but I honestly really did enjoy them. The second book is even better than the first, so even if you don't love the first one, definitely read the second one, it's so worth it. (Although my heart is a teensy bit broken. *sob*)

  5. It's funny--I really liked the story of The Maze Runner, but so far I haven't been interested enough to look into the other books yet. Also, I'm with you on not liking Matched. I haven't read Crossed or Reached yet, and I really don't plan to. I admire you for managing to get all the way through. :)

Also, OMW I LOVE THE KANE CHRONICLES SO MUCH. And I've always wondered why no one seems to mention them--like, aside from my sister, you're the only other person I know who's even read them (as far as I'm aware). I guess maybe they just get overshadowed by everything else. Oh well. I actually like Egyptian mythology better than Greek/Roman mythology, but maybe that puts me in the minority.

I liked Tris in Divergent, but I didn't like her all that much in Insurgent and Allegiant--I felt she lost some of her interestingness.

Anyway, cool post (I enjoyed doing this myself a few weeks ago). And thanks for stopping by Out of Coffee, Out of Mind

  6. What a lovely post! I have to say that I read a ton of historical fiction, though I can't think of many at the moment, except for the Calpurnia Tate series ♥

  8. A genre I don't really read is contemporary fiction. Idk why, it's almost always bored me.
Awesome post! I loved this tag.

  10. Ugh, Tris. I love the Maze Runner Series but Matched was just okay. But...

I LOVE THE KANE CHRONICLES SO MUCH! Each book in the series keeps getting better and better and just... I need help. But I can't wait for the Nordic series!
